Why do you hate animals?...I bet you'd be fine with it if the bill proposed to only give healthcare to "white" animals though right?
From scott b
You obviously have no pets, no compassion, or both.
From Teabagger
Yes, we supported healthcare reform for the right wingers.
From Bert
There is no limits to the retardness.
Guess what people, if you can't afford the vet, don't get an effing pet. What happened to common sense?
From Dr. Independent
What's wrong with animals?
From Shovel Ready
Lawyers for animals is coming soon. Each time you eat a steak, you will get sued by the estate of the cow.
From Libs do it better
I know do those damn animals think they have the right to live?
From Steve
If it includes higher taxes liberals will propose it
From grandma zaza
It would be cheaper to ban puppy mills and pet stores.
From Amatuer Sketch
"Jones has introduced a bill that would make pet insurers post detailed information on their websites so consumers can see exactly what is covered and what is not. They could then compare options, just as if they were buying insurance for themselves in a post-health reform world."
What's so crazy about that?

This is stupid. Dont get a pet if you can't afford one. We dont need our tax dollars wasted on pets
From Thedude27
Yes its Ridiculous.
..and yea I hate animals which is why I spend $32K on my dog to save his life since he was born with a liver shunt.
Try another argument.
From Big Dan
Sounds like a liberal democratic thing to do ! Brain dead could be one explanation, but I resist undo criticism on this one, it speaks for itself.
From Justin
Just when I thought the Dems couldn't shock me anymore...
From Jo
What's even more retarded are the posters here who think this is a perfectly sane and normal thing to do.
From ☭Until Victory Always☭
You people are crazy.
From maxmom
This is not health care reform!! How idiotic.
Pet insurance is something pet owners all over the country purchase at their own discretion hoping to save money on expensive vet care. The insurers are usually small companies that may act ethically, or not.
What's wrong with making the companies post what is covered and what is not? It seems little to ask.
You are obviously not a pet lover!
As a multiple pet owner, I think it's a great idea.
From NDG
I like to eat animals. I hope those I eat are healthy.
From Amanda
I have five pets, I do not have health care for any of them. Whatever they need medically I will provide because that is what I'm supposed to do as a caring pet owner. I will never carry insurance on them, I never have carried insurance on any pet and I've paid for operations that cost thousands. I find a way to pay it. Health care is a fraud, it is the biggest scam out there. They are for profit agencies, and the dollar and profit is what is most important to them...they will deny claims that were necessary and I've had it happen to myself with my own insurance. These agencies should be non-profit, then maybe they would be worth having. I wouldn't mind getting rid of my own insurance actually, unfortunately that will be a moot point soon.
From eugene jeep
apparently they are going down the tubes fast enough so lets put another nail in the socialist coffin !
From Thinking
Another venture into the insanity of the liberal mindset. Thanks.
From Smells like New Screen Names
Who is stupider you or this blogger? A simple rule regulating insurance is suddenly "health care reform."
He is proposing regulation of the pet insurance industry. I know you're shocked that an insurance company should be forced to actually reveal their coverage in an accessible fashion.
Oh those terrible rules making them actually spell out the terms of the contract to the consumer in a way that the consumer can read them, before he buys the policy!
"Jones has introduced a bill that would make pet insurers post detailed information on their websites so consumers can see exactly what is covered and what is not. They could then compare options, just as if they were buying insurance for themselves in a post-health reform world."
They made the peanut butter maker tell me what is in the peanut butter , SOCIALISM!
THEY MADE THE INSURANCE COMPANY REVEAL THEIR POLICY FOR DENIAL OF CLAIMS, SOCIALISM!
From Flower
The bill is to get insurance companies who sell pet insurance to reform their unethical practices of not disclosing provisions of their insurance and to get rid of a stupid requirement that the pet not have "pre-existing conditons" an absurd requirement for an animal. California is very good about going after unscrupulous and disreputable fly by night companies who gouge the public.
The SPCA which sells insurance supports this bill because it encourages people to buy insurance.
Pre-existing conditons should not exclude our beloved pets from getting insurance.
I hope it includes a mental health benefit if any pets have owners like you ! !
