My 2 yr old spayed female cat is acting...odd. She's never been an affectionate cat, but just yesterday, we went to the vet to get her shots. She had a rabies shot, distemper and was treated for fleas with Frontline Plus.
She is now secluding herself under the bed and SCREAMS when you hold her. She's slightly dehydrated with pale gums and is almost constantly growling. When we put her on the bed to examine her, she lashed out and swatted at me with claws out while screaming and hissing. I held her for a minute to calm her down and then she just lay on the bed, eyes open just staring and not moving.
I know something is wrong, but I'm scared to know if it was the shots or Frontline. Anyone have any input?
(We're calling around for an emergency vet right now. I just want to know if there's something else I should know.)
My vet does not deserve to be verbally abused. Neither of these things are uncommon and I still trust her opinion as a vet.
My puppy is getting her shots at Petco's low-cost vaccination clinic. They only do vaccinations every saturday. She has gotten everything except for her last distemper combo shot, which was supposed to be today, but I wasn't able to make it because I had a prospective owner coming over to meet my foster cat and she was late.
So is it okay if she waits another week to get her last shot, or will I have to start over again?
My new cat has an what we believe is an upper respiratory infection (got her from shelter a few days ago) going to vet tomorrow and wonder if they will be able to give her her shot for distemper?
I have a 6 week old puppy I am taking in for her ffirst vaccinations. I am taking her to the local spca because they do low cost vaccinations but on there website it lists all dog vacinations & I want to know which ones she will get the first visit, so I can figure out the cost.
DHPP (distemper. hepatitis, parainfluenza and parvovirus).....$19
DHPP (3 years)....$45
Rabies (1 year)....$9
Rabies (3 years)....$9
STRONGID T........$10
Bordetella (Nasal)....$15
Bordetella (Inj)........$15
LYME.....$28.50
Which of these will she get her first visit?
My cat loves me. She is well taken care of. She gets her rabies and distemper shots and has a microchip. She gets good food and water. Now why would I be constantly getting mooned—right in my face? Please.... this is driving me crazy! Especially at night when I accidentally bump into her (YUCK!)
